Our collection of rugs from Pakistan are hand-knotted in the northern cities of Peshawar, Lahore, and Islamabad. The weavers are skilled craftsmen, able to reproduce many types of handmade rugs. Quality wool, a tight knotting system, and natural dyes or non-abrasive chromium (synthetic) dyes are used. These types of dyes do not harm the natural wool fibers. Many of the designs are adaptations of traditional Persian decorative and tribal rugs. Handmade rugs are one of Pakistan’s leading exports.
